Regular filter cleaning is very easy! If you have Wellis hot tub, it is very important to clean the filters regularly, as they prevent dirt from entering important parts. At first, the process may seem like a lot, but it is extremely simple and can be completed quickly. We’ll show you!

Filter cleaning – a simply weekly method!

Filter cleaning is easy for everyone. You don’t need special things to do it, just a hose and clean water. How should you start it?

Before starting any maintenance, make sure to turn off the power to the hot tub to avoid any accidents. After this, locate the filter compartment in your hot tub. Remove the filter cartridge carefully from its housing with a simple move. For cleaning, use a garden hose or a specialized filter cleaning tool to rinse off any debris and dirt from the filter. Aim the water at an angle to remove debris lodged between the pleats. Thorough washing is important, so soak the filter. Soak the filter cartridge in a mixture of clean water and filter cleaner, for the recommended duration, usually around 1-2 hours. Filter cleaning is not too difficult, see it?

Filter cleaning – do it regularly

Filter cleaning is a weekly method, which you can do about in 1-2 hours. If you skip to soaking part, it is only about 30 minutes! How should you continue your filters cleaning?

After soaking, use a soft-bristled brush to scrub the filter gently. Pay attention to any remaining debris or scale buildup, especially in hard-to-reach areas. With this you can also remove the remaining dirt from the filter.  Once you’ve scrubbed the filter thoroughly, rinse it again with clean water to remove any remaining cleaning solution and loosened debris. Dont forget to take a close look at the filter to ensure it’s clean and free from any damage. Check for tears, cracks, or signs of wear. Replace the filter if it’s damaged beyond repair.

Drying and reinstalling

Important notice for you: let the filter dry completely before reinstalling it in the hot tub. This helps prevent mold or mildew growth, and sunlight also has a disinfecting effect. Once the filter is dry, carefully place it back into its housing in the hot tub. Make sure it’s seated properly and securely. After reinstalling the filter, turn the power back on to the hot tub and run it for a few minutes to ensure everything is working correctly. If everything is in okay, you can use your hot tub immediately.

Clean your hot tub filter regularly, ideally once every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage and water condition. Additionally, it’s a good idea to replace the filter cartridge annually, here you can find them.

If you don’t want to make this method, Wellis has a filter cleaning device, which will automatically clean your hot tub’s replaceable filter cartridge using only water pressure. Easy usage, cleaner water!
